Happy Tuesday! I am completely, totally, and 100% in love with this coat! I waited over 4 months for this coat to go on sale and my goodness it finally did! As soon as it did I jumped on the opportunity to purchase it! I bought both myself and my sister this exact same coat and we both absolutely adore it!
As you know from my previous post, I am definitely a fan of nautical themed outfits and this is no exception. I feel like I’ve never had a more beautiful coat honestly and it definitely makes a statement. I paired it with a white dress shirt and over the knee velvet blue boots (another new staple in my wardrobe thanks to the sales at Zara). Hope you enjoy this look as much as I did! This coat will definitely be making many more appearances on the blog and on my Instagram (@susyslooks) before winter comes to an end.

Hi all and happy second day of the year! I’m in love nautical style clothing. I just love clean cut lines. Plus, red, blue and white go so well together. As many of you may know, Banana Republic is one of my favorite stores ever and whenever I go shopping I make sure to always go there. I love how they tailor their clothes, plus they carry petite sizes and are one of the few stores that actually have them available at their physical stores.
They also recently came out with a collection with Olivia Palermo and I wanted every single piece in the collection! This is one of the nautical themed coats in the collection (more coat inspiration to come). I’ve already worn it 3 times and have only had it for a week. The entire collection was on huge sale over Christmas break and I was ecstatic! Hope you all are having a great day back to reality! I will miss the holidays and all the great food, Christmas is definitely my all time favorite holiday. I’m so excited for Christmas next year when I will officially be a married woman (enter excited and nervous face hahaha)!

Happy first day of 2018! Today’s world is all about the next step before you even finish the one you’re on and I learned this past year that you have to take one step at a time and actually take time to have fun and enjoy life. I was raised to always work really hard to get what you wanted and needed from life and I had to teach myself this year that you also have to leave time to relax and recharge or you will burn out. So, I have put together a short list of the types of things that help me relax and feel better when a day has been hectic.

Heres’ my list:
- Playing with my puppy. I honestly never felt like I was a dog person but then I accidentally got Manchas (my now 1.5 year old Jack Russell Chihuahua) and I fell in love with her! I couldn’t imagine my life without her. In many ways, it’s like having a baby to look after because you have to feed them, bath them, and make sure they have a babysitter when you travel. But dogs are much easier than babies in my opinion because dogs are more independent and really take care of themselves, play by themselves, and just give you tons and tons of love (Manchas loves giving kisses). Playing and cuddling with Manchas truly relaxes me and just makes me a whole lot happier because she is such an innocent and happy puppy and just gives love to everyone that crosses her path. It’s the perfect therapy for me (although it was supposed to be my sister’s therapy dog really hahaha)!
- Movies. I love spending time with my fiancé and going to movies, doing some shopping, and just going out to get a coffee together. We just laugh and talk about our goals and it just makes me feel more calm and secure in our decisions made both independently and as a couple.
- Eating out. I love trying new restaurants but what I really enjoy is going to restaurants where you already know the menu so you know what to expect and the specific things you’ll love to eat. My absolute favorite place to eat in Las Vegas is Brio, an Italian restaurant. I’ve been going there for almost 6 years and they never disappoint!
- Making organized lists. Counting to 10 has never really worked for me, I’m a very active person so in order for me to feel like things are moving forward I have to physically do something to make it happen (whether it be making a phone call, sending an email, or purchasing something). But before taking any active steps I always make a list and take it down in writing so that I visibly see all my options laid out in front of me and can best decide to move the ball forward. I hate having to make huge decisions under pressure and in a rushed manner so my lists really help me stay calm while making the decision because I feel like everything is laid out in front of me.
- Visions boards. As I talked about in my previous post, I truly believe in vision boards and the law of attraction. A vision board helps me have my goals visually in front of me everyday so that even subconsciously I work towards making them happen. I will vouch for vision boards any day! They make things happen! As I said previously, things don’t magically happen just by having a vision board but they do prepare your mind daily to stay focused and that’s my favorite thing about them. There doesn’t have to be someone pestering you every day about what you have to do-a vision board presents your goals to your mind in a way that you would like to be reminded of them daily. Lastly, you can attract positive things to your life! So be happy, stay positive, and most importantly, never ever give up! And as my parents always told me, someone is always worse off than you so be grateful!
Meet Manchas-the canine love of my life (always making me messy but I wouldn’t have it any other way!):
Hello everyone! I want to wish everyone a happy new year and hope that you reach all your dreams in this upcoming year! As for me, I plan to make a vision board in order to keep my goals and dreams on track and to remind me daily that I have to work towards a better tomorrow. Last time I created a vision board was about 10 years ago and honestly every single thing, absolutely every single thing, on my board board came true. I can’t say everything I hoped for magically came to fruition, I still had to work extremely hard in all aspects of my life. But having my goals visible every single day made me think about them daily and therefore, work towards making them coming true every day. I feel like self consciously by seeing your goals laid out every day you work towards them. This is especially true if you look at your vision board every single day in the morning. I believe that you most definitely call positive things to your life and having a positive outlook on life truly makes life easier and attracts positive things to you. I’m a total believer in the law of attraction!
As to this look, I am totally in love with it! I wore it last week when my sister surprised me with Lindsey Sterling tickets (I, myself, am a violinist so I am in love with opera, string music, and especially violin artists like Lindsey) and my fiancé surprised me with a visit (since we live in separate states right now). I love how the one piece body suit fit me to a T (one of the things I love about H&M clothing). Plus, I had been waiting for this black skirt to go on sale for 4 months and finally it did! I usually don’t wear faux fur but it was so cold that Friday that I felt like I needed something hefty to keep me warm. And lastly, I paired this look with black strappy heels and my ever-present statement earrings. Hope this look gives you guys New Years inspiration. As for me, for today’s celebrations I plan on wearing a glittery dress and hopefully can post pictures of my look with enough time for you guys to perhaps get some more New Year’s looks inspiration prior to your celebrations.

Now let’s talk goals…..
Like may of you, one of my goals last year my goals was to get fit and I honestly didn’t do anything towards this goal until July but once I started in July you can say I started strong and worked really hard to stay strong. I not only went to he gym 3-5 days a week but I definitely ate a million times healthier than I used to. It took me about 6 months to see any true difference since I started strong but definitely slowly so I didn’t shock my body. But at the 6 month mark I started seeing drastic results. I’m not done working towards my fitness goals yet and every day is a new challenge to stay on track, but I definitely don’t plan on giving up. I have certain fitness goals I want to reach before my wedding this year and I hope to start 2018 with a positive mindset and a dedication to staying on track with my fitness goals once again.
Happy New Year!
Happy Monday everyone! I’m remembering warmer days on the blog today! This was one of the last looks I shot before the leaves turned. Summer is my favorite season but boy am I gad fall is here. I especially can’t wait until Black Friday and Thanksgiving! Christmas is my absolute favorite holiday. Back to this look and to memories of summer (shoutout to places like Vegas that are still warm!), I love bold colored shorts because you can pair them with a simple white T-Shirt and the look will still stand out because bright colored shorts up the ante. I paired this look with wedges but you can also pair it with gold sandals and a white T. Happy Monday!

Happy Sunday everyone! This is a short one but unique one in my opinion. I was inspired to create this look when I had the pleasure of receiving jewels from JJLS’s Store (can be found here). They have the most beautiful jewels and they give any outfit a Dolce Gabbana vibe and who doesn’t love Dolce Gabbana! Every season this collection inspires me and I can’t wait to see what next year has in store! Well hope everyone has an amazing Sunday!
Dress (Similar can be found here and here). It was one of those rare but amazing finds at Marshall’s. I actually bought 3 other black dresses the same day I bought this one and I don’t usually like black but the dresses where just too unique not to get!

Happy Monday! As you can see, this is a statement dress and I absolutely love it! It is from the wonderful JJ’s House (here). I wanted to give it a Dolce Gabbana vibe so I paired this dress with a crown and earrings from the amazing JJLS’s Store (here). They have the most beautiful accessories and take any outfit to the next level! This dress is absolutely perfect for a wedding or very special event. Here, I am wearing a 2 and it was a bit large, I am normally a 0 or 00 (those genetics!) but I got it tailored and it fit perfectly! I totally love dressing up and would do it every day if I could but sometimes you just can’t wear heels 24/7 hahaha. Well I hope you all enjoy this look as much as I did and thank you to JJ’s House and JJLS’s Store for collaborating on this post!

Happy Sunday everyone! As you all know, I love love love white! And have recently added this white dress to my collection. It is still pretty fresh here in Vegas but surprisingly I am looking forward to the end of summer. Summer is actually my favorite season of all time but surprisingly I am looking forward to fall coats and boots. I’m not really a sweater girl but am definitely a coat girl. I lived in the East coast for 3 years so I have, let’s say, a wide collection of coats from then hahahaha and I couldn’t get myself to get rid of them even though it never ever snows in Vegas. And I actually travel to the northern part of Nevada quite a bit so the coats still really do come in handy.
Nevertheless, here are the details on my look. I almost didn’t buy this dress but I saw the bell sleeves and couldn’t resist. Now on to the most exciting part of this post, I literally waited for the pearl sandals I am wearing for 6 months. These sandals were $60 and I couldn’t get myself to buy them and then miraculously one day they went down to $30 and I jumped on the opportunity. They are from Zara, one of the few stores that carries a size 5 so I was beyond excited. Since the pearl sandals are black I paired this look with a black Kate Spade purse as well (my favorite place to buy purses from). Hope you guys enjoy the details of this look and have a happy and relaxing Sunday!

Happy Saturday! The weather in Vegas has been so crazy! I shot this look last week when it was still over 100 degrees out and all of a sudden this weekend the weather has been as low as 69 degrees. I can believe it! It usually doesn’t get cold in Vegas until mid to late October so I’m in total shock.
Now on to this look, me shirt and shorts all both from H&M. they are having a great end of the summer sale. I paired my outfit with Tory Burch sandals that I bought at the beginning of the summer but for some reason didn’t end up wearing it until this past week. I love them, they’re so comfortable and definitely add some inches to my 5′ 1” height! Finally, I added a cream coach purse to complete this look. It is such a small and portable purse and so comfortable to carry around.
Plus, I love over the shoulder shirts and for some reason this summer I just couldn’t stay away from the color blue so I added this blue shirt to my wardrobe. On another exciting note, I usually have a really hard time finding shorts that fit comfortably because they’re either too short or just too tight but these shorts were perfect because they are high waisted and the materials is a linen type so its very comfy. I bought these shorts in this color and an orange color.
Now, it seems I will have to wrap up my summer looks since it definitely feels like fall here in Vegas, at least for now. Here, we have winter one day and summer the next.

Happy Friday everyone! I hope you all like this dress as much as I do. It is perfect for a fancy outing or a workday. If you use it for a workday you could pair it with a collared shirt underneath, I would go with a white or black one. It would be a perfect look for winter and would keep you warm! I paired this dress with nude heels and shoes as I wanted to go for a more sophisticated look. I also added my favorite pearl earrings of all time and a red lip.
I love dresses that have a modest tone but have unique characteristics like this one. At first look, it seems just to be a cream colored dress but it actually has swirl patterns all throughout and has an open back which makes it flirty. Well happy Friday and I hope everyone has a happy weekend!
